It is hard to believe that we are already three months into 2017, but ready or not; Spring is almost here. Before we get there, though, St. Patrick’s Day lets us kick things off with great friends, great vibes, and great parties. Today we take a closer look at one of the biggest St. Patty’s Day celebrations in the country down in Savannah, Georgia. A city known for its Southern Hospitality and great food, Savannah is also known for their massive St. Patrick’s Day celebration, which is fitting when you notice all of the bars, restaurants, and history in the area. This is the perfect place to take in on March 17th, so start making your plans immediately!
First things first, March 17th in Savannah dates back 190 years and this time of the year the Hostess City invites guests to grab their green, get out and have some fun; all month long. Things officially kick off on March 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in which the St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place. The event brings together family, friends, and fun from all over the city. The . Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah is the second largest in the U.S., right behind New York with more than 300,000 people expected to visit and enjoy the city-wide festivities. However St. Patrick’s Day is more than just a day for a parade.

All weekend long you will find the St. Patrick’s Day Festival taking place on River Street and at the City Market. Here you will find live entertainment and activities as well as interactive artists, photo booths and much more. Of course, expect plenty to eat and drink while at the festival with added extras including a dance party, a social media video board and the Bud Light Lime-A-Rita Cabana. Plenty of other St. Patrick’s Day events will be taking place all over the city. This includes the Top ‘O The Mornin’ Run, the Savannah Kilt And Color Run, and much more. For Fleet Feet’s “Top ó the Mornin’ Run,” it does not matter if you are fast or slow, the event is free and open to the public. The Savannah’s Kilt and Color Run will take place on March 18, 2017, and is all about having fun. There are six color stations along the course while each runner gets two powder bags included in their registration. Do something different!
