This is a great way to learn the do’s and do not’s of having a beard, and it’s also a great way to help get the most out of your beard. Be bearded, be bold, but most importantly, be smart. Have a look at the Five Things Not To Do With Your Manly Beard and take notes! It’s more than just having a beard!
No Accessories!
Your beard is an accessory, so don’t ‘dress’ it up. That means none of the following: no beads, no bands, no holiday decorations of any kind, and certainly no elastic, rubber products either. Why? Well, because you are not a child and your beard is not a toy! Step your game up and treat yourself with some respect!
Keep It In Shape!
This is probably the most important part of the list. Don’t let your beard simply grow. It needs to be tended too, it needs trimmed, and it needs grooming. Trust us, you don’t want a ragged, rugged looking beard full of tangles, rough curls and an unkept look; this is certainly not the goal. An added bonus of trims and good grooming also makes for healthy hair and amazing growth; which is exactly what a beard should possess.
No Food Left Behind!
Here is one of those no brainer’s we discussed earlier. Do not leave food in your beard. Not only is this a terrible way to gain attention, it also makes for a repulsive beard. Check yourself, keep your beard cleaned out and in shape. You never want someone else to find that last piece of bacon you missed from breakfast; at dinner! Stay clean, stay fresh!
No Dye!
Now this one is touchy. One should never dye their beard, unless under certain, extreme circumstances. What we mean is don’t dye your beard blue, red, green, neon anything, or something unnatural. Its also terrible for the health of your hair, especially your facial hair. Want to get rid of some gray hairs? Sure, do your thing! But for no reason or circumstance should your beard be any color of the rainbow; just saying. Step it up!
Groom The ‘Stache!
We’re not aiming for a goatee, or half of a beard, so for the love of god, do not shave your mustache. However you do need to pay some attention to that upper lip. No one likes the ‘Lorax’ with facial hair covering up those lips, so trim it back and shape it up. However don’t take it off altogether. As we stated before, we’re not aiming for a goatee, or half of a beard. Shape it up and step it up!
